A lot can happen in ten years. A decade ago, MenuTrinfo was founded with a good idea about menu labeling, and the right two people to make an impact in the food service industry. While the mission of the company still rings true, the rest of the company has grown leaps and bounds from that day.

MenuTrinfo has grown to three different divisions, reaching clients across the world. We have expanded from working with just restaurants to colleges and universities, K-12 schools, grocery and convenience stores, prisons, summer camps, retirement homes, manufacturing facilities, and many more!

It’s hard to pick just a few, but here are some top highlights from the past decade:

Menu labeling is here to stay

We couldn’t quite believe our eyes on May 7, 2018. After nearly 8 years of waiting and frustration, menu labeling finally went into effect. We had ridden the highs and lows of delays, debates in Congress, and the uncertainty of what a new head of the FDA might do to the regulations. However, we were finally able to celebrate the regulations coming to fruition.

AllerTrain granted ANSI accreditation

We weren’t just twiddling our thumbs as we waited for menu labeling to go into effect. Rather, we found another area of the industry that needed some additional help. The AllerTrain Suite of Courses were developed to help diners with special dietary needs eat out more confidently. We took our dedication to the next level in 2015 when AllerTrain and AllerTrain Lite both became ANSI-accredited, followed by our AllerTrain U and Food Handler courses.

Kitchens with Confidence revolutionizes “free from” labeling

It seems like there are a million logos food manufacturers can put on their food. However, nobody has properly handled certified free-from labeling with allergens. Foodservice establishments like restaurants and college dining halls also didn’t have the opportunity to promote their allergen-free efforts with a certification. That’s when Kitchens with Confidence was born. This division takes food safety to the next level, and is putting the spotlight back on certified allergen-free dining.

The team keeps growing

It’s not been just business these past ten years. We’ve seen our team grow in leaps and bounds! From graduations to marriages to new babies, we’ve loved watching our team flourish. We couldn’t be happier with each and every employee’s love and dedication for what we do!
